Merging into God

Have you ever had God step into one of your dreams and you really and actually have a powerful encounter and interaction with Him? I wanted to share something with you that might just change your life. I share some of the earlier details of the dream because it might very well be prophetic… I don’t know. The dream was indeed very epic. I felt that if I could have captured it somehow it would no doubt be Hollywood film material. In fact it seemed to weave together so many movies I’ve seen and enjoyed.

It started out with Russell Crowe (perhaps as Calels father in “Man of Steel”) fought with this man who was the epitomy of evil and crushed him beneath his feet. Instead of being destroyed, however, this evil went into the earth itself and poisoned it. A council was called (much like the councils of Thor or Green Lantern) to decide what to do. Seventeen earth years passed while the meeting was held in a highrise city building. They emerged to find the earth cloaked in darkness and covered with thick layers of ash. It was dangerous at this point to shine any light as it would immediately attract dark forces to attack.

Then, Sandra Bullock was chosen for a mission and she was prepared and eager to go on. It was decided that she was to travel back in time to prevent a senseless evil which I knew to mean the Vietnam war. Her love interest was not willing to risk losing her to this mission and was grasping at her tethers as she was floating into space away on her mission (Gravity). She seemed to be an angel. We all were… it was a council of “angels”. (Angels are never what you imagined them to be and the reality of their existence will shock many who even claim to believe in them!)

Then there was a wedding, but something was awry. The way the bride spoke was so formal yet on the verge of tears with deep concern. I kept repeating the phrase in my mind, “formal, yet intimate… formal, yet intimate”, when all of a sudden I was watching a film in a theatre, yet the screen was small in the far upper right corner of the vast room. I then realized this was all in my own mind. (Beautiful Mind & Mr. Nobody)

Was I constructing all of this to try to work out my issues and solve problems?

Then I said, “I think the One I am to marry is God.”

The moment I said this God suddenly appeared and was coming near. This was for real! God just stepped into my dream! I scrambled to come up with something to say in His Presence as I was struck by the reality of His Holiness! Before I could say or do anything He telepathically said, “Don’t tell me what you think I want to hear. And don’t put words in my mouth either.”

God simply wanted to hear my genuine heart – not any false words – and he certainly didn’t want for me to put words onto “him”, pretending to know what he might say. The message was clear:

Just be yourself and let God be “himself”. He will always surprise you. He is a very real person we can have a very real relationship with!

Then in one breathtaking moment I “fell” forward toward him. I floated/flew into him and we merged… I felt the vibrations of my spirit and His Spirit tuning into each other as I awoke. It was absolutely brilliant! We are One!

This isn’t just true of me but of every believer in Jesus! We are one in spirit with him just as the Scriptures say:

““The two are united into one.” But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him.” (1 Cor 6)

Jesus has received what he prayed for in John 17! Jesus says:

“And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth.

20“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. 21I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.

22“I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. 23I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me. 24Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!

25“O righteous Father, the world doesn’t know you, but I do; and these disciples know you sent me. 26I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.” (John 17)

When I told my little girl my dream the next morning I talked about how our relationship with God really is like a marriage. God is totally committed to us, and when we commit to “him”, this covenant relationship works. Just as a man and wife become one, Jesus and the believer (His Bride) become One. Marriage is a picture and illustration of this!

“Seek the lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.” – Isaiah 55:6 NLT
