I love this article written by my new friend Mystic Mama. I know this will set a heart free. It reminded me of a vision the Lord Jesus gave me: I was in a padded cell for the mentally ill. I looked out the barred window of the cell to see a huge picture of an outline of a man sitting. Several circles with the colors of the rainbow in the man were all muted and dark as ash and soot and black roots choked out the the colors. Then a mighty wind of God’s Spirit blew all the darkness and removed the roots and the colors all sprang to life and the flow of life and light returned. As I witnessed this happen, my cell door burst open and I walked out a changed man. I was a strong warrior with a sword and ready for battle. My crew showed up and welcomed me. I was free and I had like minded friends in the battle and journey!
The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners. Isaiah 61:1
The Hebrew word for “broken” in Isaiah 61:1 is shavar, meaning “to burst, break into pieces, wreck, crush, smash; to rend, tear in pieces.” This is referring to fractured where a portion of our spirit separates itself as a natural way to deal with a traumatic event. I am still very much just learning about this subject, however in the process of receiving some emotional healing myself have discovered how much God desires for people to be whole in body, soul, and spirit. I also discovered how we have the ability to spend time with God in the spirit and allow Him to bring…
Today I received a call from a scam going by the name Pro-life Committee. I had the distinct impression that they had prerecorded certain phrases and based on your response the listener/handler/con-artist would press certain buttons based on what you said. I wasn’t actually talking to a human being.
A woman called and asked if I was pro life. When I said yes, she said it was an honor to speak with me. She asked for my address because she wanted to send me a letter. Then she asked for a $75 donation. I said I could not pledge, but send the organization’s info and I’d think about it. She said it is expensive to mail and she needs a pledge to send me a letter. I said, skip the letter save your money and give me your web address. She said, I can do that but how about a pledge of $100. I said I can’t make a commitment and I have to get back to work now. Then she said, think about the sweet little babies dying if you don’t help. Then I knew it was a scam. Who says that? I said something like, wow you are a slick sales person. I’ll check your website and I am hanging up.
I am sharing this to remind you to be wise. I don’t want anyone to suffer the loss of thinking you are “doing good” and end up finding that you are funding con artists instead.
On a more positive note, I recorded a very positive pro-life song years ago. Yes, there were tears as I was recording it. You can listen to my song “tiny hands” and read the story about this song here: https://reflect.bandcamp.com/track/tiny-hands
Hey guys! Have you ever had a rapture dream? I asked on facebook if anyone has ever had a rapture dream and this was the best response:
“Yes! It was a turning point in my walk with Christ. In my dream Jesus was descending and people were running away and screaming. They were looting and rioting in the streets. But I was absolutely mesmerized. I could not look away. I had an overwhelming sense of joy. I fell to my knees and worshiped him. Then I woke up and read the story of the 10 virgins. I thought “it’s time to get ready!”
I agree. It’s time to get ready.
Here is my rapture dream that was a turning point in my own life as well:
Tonight I happened to see this Rapture dream youtube video. It caught my eye because it was shared on my birthday. There were some interesting correlations with my own dream. She shares other talks about how the Lord reveals out need for a pure heart or we will be vulnerable to being devoured by the enemy.
Ask the Lord to look into your heart to see if it is pure. Then do what you must do. Be merciless toward your sin. Stop making excuses for something that hates you and wants to drag you to hell.
At a Bible study recently we looked at this passage from Matthew 18:
About that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”
2 Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them. 3 Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. 4 So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.
5 “And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf[a] is welcoming me. 6 But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea.
7 “What sorrow awaits the world, because it tempts people to sin. Temptations are inevitable, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting. 8 So if your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It’s better to enter eternal life with only one hand or one foot than to be thrown into eternal fire with both of your hands and feet. 9 And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It’s better to enter eternal life with only one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.[b]
10 “Beware that you don’t look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels are always in the presence of my heavenly Father.[c]
Parable of the Lost Sheep
12 “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost? 13 And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he will rejoice over it more than over the ninety-nine that didn’t wander away! 14 In the same way, it is not my heavenly Father’s will that even one of these little ones should perish.
So deal brutally with what is destroying you. Jesus is using strong language to make a strong point. You cannot have God and sin too. They are incompatible. God demands we part ways with sin. 1 Corinthians 6 says this:
“Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, 10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. 11 Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
So please call on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and he will cleanse you and make you holy. That’s what the Holy Spirit does! Come be reconciled with God and gain a pure heart! The only ones who enter God’s kingdom are those who have “washed their robes in the lambs blood”. It’s a metaphor for working it out with Jesus through trusting completely in his sacrifice. Making that exchange with Christ on the cross for yourself. All your sin for all his righteousness.
“Sin” is anytime you function as a negation of the intended design of who you are – that which is apart from your essential design and identity of love (source). You were created in God’s image. He is love. You are love. Anything God defines as sin, fornication, pornography, drunkenness, greed, etc… must be discarded for the truth. You are love. And sin isn’t what love does. Haven’t we all figured that out by now?
Be Holy! Holy is your essential design and identity of love. Holy is fullness of joy! Holy is Peace.
But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do, 16for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” 17Since you call on a Father who judges each man’s work impartially, live your lives in reverent fear during your temporary stay on earth (1 Peter 1:16-18)
When I read the Shack it was a very healing experience for me. It made me question and consider the fact that God loves and wants to save the very worst of humans, pedophiles, porn stars, Muslim terrorists, and even judgmental Christians – and I was among the worst of these!) Through this story he wrote for his children, William Paul Young demonstrates what Scripture tells us:
“Where sin abounds, grace much more abounds.” Romans 5:20
I remember reading one part in the book about a son’s relationship to his father. I became so angry that I threw the book across the room. I was angry because it was bringing up my own painful and strained relationship with my father. I was bitter about my parents divorce and I hadn’t talked with my dad in a couple years. He had rejected his family. He had rejected me. I wrote a song you’ll never hear about that pain and the blame.
Well a few days later after I finished the book, I had the most powerful encounter with the love of Jesus. It happened, as it often does with me, in a dream.
Here tis:
I was standing there looking at my dad. My brother was there as well and my first impression was an overwhelming awareness that we are One. Then God started to reveal how he felt about my dad. God’s love started pouring into my heart and it grew in intensity. It just kept growing and growing more and more intense and I thought, “Is there any end to this love?” It became so intense I was convinced I would explode into a million pieces. Fearing for my life I shook myself awake as if to say, “No more!”
That profound experience healed my relationship with my dad. Of course I forgave him! I have treated him with love and respect ever since. I called him up shortly after that and was going to send him the book The Shack but he told me that he had just read it. The book made quite an impact on him as well.
Wow God!
From My friend Robby Dawkins:
Is there a Demonic Spirit related to the movie the Shack? The Answer is yes!
I read the book several years ago and weeped so hard. It made me angry then broke my heart. Then watching the movie tonight with my wife Angie Dawkins, all those emotions were stirred once again. This story is really about the authors horrific struggle with the Lord after suffering sexual abuse as a missionaries kid. This deep wound is depicted in the story with a horrific tragedy in a family.
None of the depictions of God are Caucasian (loved it!) And portraits God in both male and female form (loved that too). This movie is so powerful and I felt the Presence of the Lord so strong at various points of it. And felt the theology to be very sound.
So what of the demonic I mentioned you ask? I believe their is a demonic assignment against this book and movie. It’s both by a Religious Spirit and a spirit that insights Prejudice. These Demonic spirits are trying to block people from experiencing healing and freedom from a critical spirit.
I highly recommend you take every atheist, spiritually wounded, orphaned spirited person you know to this movie and then a “sit down” with them afterwards to process it.
It sets us up to bring many to Christ…
I have written much more about the Shack and the other books Wm Paul Young has written. Here are some of the most important ones to check out:
The Shack (a response to a critic) – Here I take on a prominent critic and address all of what most critics see as the most scandalous parts of the book, The Shack
