“Gandalf! I thought you were dead! But then I thought I was dead myself. Is everything sad going to come untrue? What’s happened to the world?” “A Great shadow has departed,” said Gandalf, and then he laughed, and the sound was like music, or like water in a parched land; and as he listened the thought came to Sam that he had not heard laughter, the pure sound of merriment, for days upon days without count.” — JRR Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings
“Joy is the serious business of heaven.” — Quote by Daniel Lovett
Beginnings
Introduction by Daniel Lovett

I stood in my backyard one cold winter night, beholding the constellation Orion, and thought, “I would like to make my encounters with Jesus public. I want others to experience this friendship with God as I have. I will write a book and call it, The Christian Mystic.”
I rolled with that thought for some time and then finally stopped to ask God what he thought about this idea, daring him to say anything other than ‘yes’. To my relief, he told me, “I think that is a wonderful idea.”
So, while I wanted to name this book The Christian Mystic, God had a better idea. Angels, whom I often refer to as “the host of heaven1,” advised me on a few occasions to name this volume, The Mystic One. I didn’t exactly know why for some time, but I was finally informed:
This is not about you. This is about the One who restores Oneness, restoring and enfolding ALL in himself. This is about the Savior, King Jesus… Yeshua. He is The Mystic One.
This book, The Mystic One, celebrates the Lord Jesus Christ, champions his finished work, explores the nuances, ramifications, and personal implications of his New Covenant, and highlights Jesus’ mission and message to restore all in Oneness. This theme of Oneness permeates these pages. Oneness is the theme of this Great Awakening. Now, when I say “Oneness,” this is not to be confused with any Oneness theology you may find on the internet or in some churches. (I must confess, I am practically ignorant as to what anyone else is saying on the subject of Oneness). Jesus wishes to bring correction to all of man’s ideas about Oneness — what heaven would see as paltry, incomplete, or mistaken — and reveal what Oneness truly means to him. And, after all, isn’t that the most important thing? What Jesus thinks? Here is a great question we could ask of Jesus:
“Jesus, what does Oneness mean to you?”
(Keep that question alive. This is not a question-and-answer session, but an ongoing conversation. Journal about the insights that Jesus is, right now, sharing with you.)
I believe that we can all come to know Jesus, hear from Jesus, and meet with him in the ways described in this book for “God is no respecter of persons” (Romans 2:11). This means that you are just as able, as qualified and worthy, to be as close to Jesus and God as anyone else. God is no respecter of persons. He has no favorites because everyone is his favorite. His love is indiscriminatory… and infinite!!!
God is no respecter of persons. The Scripture tells us that Elijah was a man just like us. What is God communicating to us through this revelation? He may well have said, “Moses was a man, just like us. Joseph, Daniel, and Noah are men just like us. The apostle Paul is a man just like us. John the Beloved is a man just like us. Saint Peter was a man just like us. Mary, who sat listening at Jesus feet and later anointed Jesus feet with expensive perfume, is a woman just like us.2
What this says to me is that any maximal level or quality of relationship you see anyone enjoying with God in the Scriptures, or outside of the Scriptures, you can have too! But the Truth is even better than that!
As I worked on this chapter, Jesus spoke to me about something He is boldly bringing forward and presenting as Reality (with a capital “R”). I hear Jesus saying, by way of reminder:
“Jesus was a man just like us.”
Jesus wants us to see him this way. As Yoda put it to Luke as they warmed themselves at the bonfire of their sacred tree and all their sacred books, “Luke, we are what they grow beyond. That is the true burden of all masters.”
When I watched that scene with my daughter, I had to rewind it and play it over and over, and then over again a few more times. Even when I clearly heard what Yoda said, my brain could not process what I was hearing, and I couldn’t make sense of it. I knew God had a message in it for me, so I conducted a thorough research project to understand what it was saying.
“We are what they grow beyond.”
What does it mean?
I don’t know. Gave me a great deal to ponder, consider, and calculate, it did. Confused, I was. Where might this lead? I wondered.
What if this speaks of a growth mindset? Entertain a thought experiment with me.
Does Jesus, our Rabbi (Jedi Master), teach a growth mindset of “my ceiling is your floor” when he says:
“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.” (John 14:12 NLT)3
What?!? Greater works than Jesus? I imagine Jesus singing to his body:
“Everything I can do, you can do better!” 🎶
Jesus likes to be scandalous like this. Have you read the Gospel of John?!? He’s the kind of guy who says stuff like: “Eat my flesh and drink my blood.” (John 6:53)
Paul wrote:
“Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped (or seized), but emptied Himself (or set aside His divine rights) by taking the form of a bond-servant and being born in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross.” — Philippians 2:5-8 NASB
Look at this phrase: “Being found in appearance as a man”. Is Holy Spirit saying that Jesus is a man just like us? Cuz’ it sure looks that way to me. More specifically, this Scripture says he emptied himself of all his Divine privileges. He lived his life as a human, just like you and me?
So there you have it, folks! Biblical evidence that Jesus was a man just like us.
At this point, I’d like to tune in and hear more directly from the Lord:
Jesus: Remember, I told you this would be easy. There are no rituals, there are no mantras needed, no long hours of prayer… only a sincere heart turned towards me. I will teach you how to hear, for hearing comes by the word of God. (Daniel wants to capitalize “word” to signify that this speaks of me — the Word, the Logos. He is quite captured by this. It speaks to him. The Truth of Logos draws him. He wants to revel in this mystery with you… all in due time.)
What is your inquiry? (As if I speak like this…) What’s your question?
I want to hear from you about how knowing that you, being a man like us, can shift our paradigm to see our own reality differently.
Therein lies the problem. You think it’s about you still. You haven’t yet lost yourself that you may fully find your SELF in me. But not to worry, there is no hurry. You are on the timeline that you dictate, and our Oneness is inevitable. I see no reason to delay; however, delaying only means to suffer longer. I do not revel in the suffering of any, and yet, I respect your free will. I treat you with dignity to show you how you also may show honor and show dignity to one another. Respect each other’s journey. Be patient with yourself and others. Don’t be hard on yourself or on anyone “other”.
Therein lies another problem. You see yourselves as disconnected. You see the other as an “other”, when the truth is Oneness. It is high time that we dissolve this notion that WE are separate. Start to practice this awareness and love each other as you would love yourself. Love one another as you would love me. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Be proactive in your love.
To answer your question. I lost myself in the Father. Who was “Yeshua” anyway? Yeshua was the absolute embodiment of Father. “If you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the Father.” Essentially, Yeshua was the “ego” of the Father. “Papa ismy sense of SELF.” I AM the fullness of the Godhead in bodily form. The truth is, I did this as a human, just like you. I showed you that you, too, can fully embody the Father. You do so when you make the next best choice that is presented to you… the choice to LOVE. “You” are “saved” when you do.
Daniel, would you tell them about the “water table rising” dream and the angelic word?
Okay. So, I had a dream the other day that I was at a riverbank. I was putting my canoe in the water by myself. A few young men offered to help, but I told them, “I got this”. I dragged the canoe to the water and put it in alongside the riverbank. I tied it up and started to walk up the bank when the water level suddenly rose. It swamped the canoe, and I worried that the current would drag it away. The water rose all the way up the bank to where I was, and I got soaked. The canoe, though immersed in water, was still there, tied up. I also had the most profound impression that there were many treasures in the water that one could dive for.
I was struck by the picture of the canoe being immersed in this water and not taken away.
The next night I was reading Margie Moorman’s angel book to my kids and came across the passage where an angel declares:
“I AM is saying the water table of the nation and church is rising. He has set in place before each of you divine choices to be in on the cutting edge of what I AM, Jesus His Son, and Holy Spirit are doing. I AM is raising up sons and daughters with a supernatural awareness of their destiny, birthright, and oneness in Jesus. Not one is being left out.”4
Of course, I was stunned by this whole chapter in Margie’s book, especially the mention of Oneness. Just imagine. What choices is the Lord setting before you right now that you can simply step into to be in on the cutting edge of what I AM is up to?
May Yeshua, I AM, give you, his dear child, supernatural awareness of your destiny, birthright, and of your Oneness with I AM.
What sort of treasures does God have for us in his river of delights (Psalm 36:8)? Who is interested in taking a deep dive?
Do you have a “…fear of the water…”? 🎶 Check out Fear of the Water, by SYML
Alrighty then. Besides wanting us all to see him just as human as you are, I am receiving another word from Yeshua. He wants to emphasize something about his experience as a human that might just surprise you. He is saying:
“It was easy.”
Think about it. How else could Jesus say, “Come and learn of me, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light,” unless he himself experienced an easy yoke and a light burden? Right?!?
Jesus learned the secret of remaining in the grace that was sufficient for each moment.
God says:
“At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.” — 2 Corinthians 6:2 NLT
I woke up one morning to the Lord instructing me about this very Scripture. The Lord asked me, “Do you know what ‘today is the day of salvation’ means?”
I knew God was about to bring a new layer of revelation, so I waited… and listened.
He continued: “This means that your wholeness dwells in the now.”
In each moment that we call “now”, Jesus experienced the wholeness of Papa’s presence and intimate love. Jesus abided in the love of his Papa and invites us to do the same. He reveled in Abba’s love. He showed us how, and he shows us how! He modeled for all of us how to be human. He showed us the Way. He showed us the Way to live in the love of Papa and the wholeness of the NOW.
Surprise! Jesus is here right now to take you by the hand and lead you in the dance of your life! Flow with him. Dance with him!
Paul Young talked about a season in his life when he began to experience a profound and sustained joy in his life. This went on for over six months. He didn’t even want to tell anyone about it for fear that he would jinx this experience. He didn’t want to lose this joy by drawing too much attention to it. Finally, at lunch with a trusted friend, he opened up and told his friend what was going on in his life. His friend asked him, “So what happened six months ago?” It suddenly dawned on him! 💡 Six months ago Paul distinctly remembered that he had made a conscious decision to live only in the present moment. To live in the now!
ACTIVATION:
Jesus says: Make the conscious decision right now to live in the present moment of “now”. Your “job” is simply just to BE. Your job is to enjoy your life! Become a connoisseur of life! Enjoy your loved ones! Celebrate life and all the love that I surround you with! Be excellent to each other. Of course, this speaks of your profound Papa’s LOVE-inspired kindness you show to each other daily, but this also speaks of becoming experts in blessing one another in the gifting and callings I have given you! Be excellent! Inspire excellence in Love in everything you do. Everything you do is for LOVE!
“This is my NEW COVENANT in my blood.” 🩸 Jesus says… like right NOW!
“Do you know what you are in on?”
“You are One with my Spirit,” Papa and Son say together.
“You are home in our love.” ❤️
“HOME!”

I think I am going to get me a snack now.
The blackberries I am eating remind me of the wild blackberry thickets I picked as a child with my siblings and our amazing cousin while visiting her in Oregon.

“I love you, okay bye!” — Quote by Elio, leader of Earth 🌏
1 When I say “host of heaven,” I am speaking about what the Bible refers to as “the great cloud of witnesses… a myriad of angels in joyful assembly… and of spirits of the righteous made perfect.” (Hebrews 12) This is the Kingdom of Heaven. Family. Relationships. Connection. Oneness.
2 What separates us from any of those we call saints who have enjoyed the friendship of God? Perhaps it was their humility? For God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. And how did any saint arrive at humility? I would propose the answer is through suffering.
3 <Can we appreciate the bomb Jesus dropped on us with that one? There is much to unpack and even more to experience! Did He not say, “Prepare your minds for action”? There are works he has prepared for you to walk in. Works you ought to be doing… at which point Jesus slaps you on the butt and says, “Go get em’, tiger!”>
4 Angels Sing But Do They Dance by Margie Moormann
Daniel, thank you, that was wonderful! I want to share something with you. I can’t remember (hey, I’m 78 years old) what I shared with you about my health and medical issues. Anyway, here goes (again?) …. While I was back in Wisconsin in 2010 probably about the time of my baptism in Bill’s hot tub, the Veterans Administration told me I probably had prostate cancer. It wasn’t until I moved back to Seattle that year that the VA got the results from the biopsies they took in Milwaukee before I left. I was diagnosed with fairly severe prostate cancer and was given external radiation for several weeks, in addition to implanting about 48 radioactive seeds into my prostate gland. My PSA went to close to zero after about a year and stayed there until around the summer of 2023 when it started to rise again. In February of 2025 the VA urologist (actually she was from the U of Washingon Hospital) told me that my cancer was back and had metastasized. I wasn’t sure what that meant at the time, but after a PET/CT scan they found that it had spread to my right lung, and possibly my spine. I started hormone therapy 3 months ago which is also described as chemical castration and causes weakness in the legs, fatigue, and hot flashes (oh joy). But God has been so good to me. He has strengthened my faith and given me much peace. BUT, in addition to all that, and this is REALLY what I want to tell you, just a few days ago the LORD mysteriously lifted the life-long fear and negatively that I have lived with as long as I can remember. At about the same time, a cluster of dried red rose petals, again mysteriously, appeared on my kitchen floor at 7:30 in the morning. I thought, what the?? Anyway, this is the 21st Century so I asked Google, what does this mean? And an AI reply came back that said, “Finding dried rose petals on the floor often symbolizes enduring love, remembrance, passion, or a past event like a wedding or romantic gesture, BUT [my emphasis] can also signify purity, spirituality, or even a gentle ending, depending on the color and context; they’re a versatile symbol used in traditions for love spells, home decor, or to attract good fortune.” I’ve shared this story with both Christians and non-Christians, but not too amazingly to me, it’s the Christians who seem to be the most skeptical of this ….. But no matter, the significant matter is that Papa, Jesus, and his Holy Spirit have lifted a curse from me. I went to my men’s group Friday morning, and after I came home I received a text from the leader which said, “If I can make an observation, you seem more free and relaxed. . . . Your freedom to express “going home” was refreshing, I feel the same way. This earth is not my home!”
Peace Out Brother. Daniel please keep me posted about the publishing of your book. I definitely want to read it.
In Christ
