My wife and I have been leading worship in churches around Northeast Wisconsin since 2001. I went into Nursing Home ministry in November 2006 and haven’t looked back since.

Along the way my wife and I have recorded an unspecified* number of albums and have produced an unspecified* number of children who call me “Papa”. (*Unspecified because who knows if another will pop out at any minute and lets face it… my biggest priority if that happens is not to come back here and update this bio for the sake of being accurate).

I’ve performed a number of weddings, farmers markets, churches, Cup O Joy concerts, Lifest appearances (I know what your thinking… I am not referencing the streaker who ran across the stage during the Switchfoot concert last year… that wasn’t me… well, at least they can’t prove it), and random Walmart parking lot concerts… ok just kidding about the last one.

Together with my wife we have a band called Reflect. Listen to our original music here: http://reflect.bandcamp.com

  1. Glad to find a fellow follower. I’m joining in with you. Take a look at my blog and see just how much we have in common in Christ. Follow my blog as well, if you like. No pressure.

[p.s. – I found your blog because I was doing a bit on God’s love this morning. I was actually looking for a graphic (which your site contains). I found a fellow believer. Awesome.

[p.p.s. – If you would rather me not use the “For the Love of God” graphic, please say. I’ll take it off my site immediately, but I hope it will provide a link between our sites.]

    • Hey Sam, Great to hear from you. checking out your blog (and facebook) now.

    • I moved web address and such… just letting you know that I still check in with your blog every once in a while. I’m enjoying the “Thank You for Saving Me” video.

  2. An honorable journey indeed. I share your love of questioning, your unwavering quest to reach your highest potential, and your deep faith……..read any Thomas Merton? I find his deep inquiry valuable. Thanks for stopping by my blog of contemplation as well…..

    • Hi, I realize it’s been 3 years since you commented on this but I was rereading comments and such and have come across an interesting story about Thomas Merton. (Which I intend to read some of his work). The story involves a Near Death Experiencer named Howard Storm who after his experience read a great deal of Thomas Merton. He visited his grave and was visited by a young man with a big smile on his face who handed him a book of Thomas Merton poems. He turned to thank him and he was gone. He suspects in retrospect it may have been Thomas Merton himself making an angelic visit. The only reason I mention it is because I really trust the source, Howard Storm, as I am sure you would too if you listened to his interviews (found on Youtube).

Anyway, thanks for the comment and suggestion.

  3. It’s interesting how you described our journey with Christ as a struggle. It IS, much of the time, and I actually posted on that recently! Here’s the link, if you’re interested. 🙂 http://thewayofredemption.wordpress.com/2012/04/11/discipleship-soaring-running-and-walking/

  4. Daniel it is no wonder you are a muscian, your heart has a melody thats is piercing. I am truly touched. I too love to share the good and bad. It is through the bad that we truly relate to others. I am a walking miracle. Born 2lbs 2oz. I know I have a greater purpose inside me. Everytime I mention it I tear up because for so long I hated me, a family on drugs and alcohol. Physical abuse etc. But God saved me and I always wondered why. I mean save me as a preemie to live in abuse was crazy. But God doesn’t handicap us we do. If you just take time their is a post I wrote on God doesn’t handicap us.http://womendivas4god.wordpress.com/2012/06/11/your-flesh-handicaps-you-not-god/. This blog is an outlet for women but I think you would enjoy the post. My other blog is http://www.highlyfavored74.wordpress.com Christian Comfort & Conversation Cafe.

Blessings Daniel to you and your beautiful wife. Me and her have something in common. Husbands with beautiful hearts because my husband said I was the most beautiful woman in the world. They were both right!

    • Thanks! We are able to comfort others with the comfort with which we have been comforted. You have a ministry to everyone who has ever lived with abuse. I just went to a mission church the other day and it was awesome how they are reaching out and loving all these kids who live in an area of town high in illegal activity and likely abuse as well. I was inspired and want to help their efforts.

When you have an NDE you experience what you EXPECT to experience. That is why Muslims have the Muslim experience, Christians may see Jesus etc. It is all consciousness and we do survive death. But certainly not in the man-made religious view. If you spend a little time researching you will find out quickly the religious myths are not real.

Your religion while in a physical body is simply based on where you were born and to whom. Think about it, those reading this website were born to Christian families in the west. If you were born to a Jewish family in Israel, it is 99% certain you would not believe in Christ. Do you really believe a loving God punishes someone for being born into the wrong family and country?

Spirituality and survival are real. But I think it is time we give up our fables and seek what is real. Jesus was a spiritual master, research what he really said. It takes much longer to progress when you die stuck in a “belief system”. And make no mistake, you are currently stuck in one of thousands of belief systems. I urge you to consider what I am saying.

    Best Regards,
    Marc

    Dear Daniel,
I have been in of research of NDEs from early 80′ and in spititual path mosty my whole life. I’ve become quite old man in this form of God’s expression for now. It’s a long story but shortly among other experiences I once was given a precious gift in a deep meditation I had practiced for decades. I experienced my true essence that is a Etenity and Infinity of all what exist. I’m a part of God and so are all of us. There is nothing in Universe or in different dimensions that isn’t God. You and me belong to The Sun as a Rays of It, have always belong and will always belong. The Sun have many names on earth. There is no word to honor God. While word God is profoundly flat word to discribe what It is, our rational thinking through mind and using our earthly brains never can understand our Source. The way to experience God is Love. Through evolution in earth have been visited sacred guides to raise human consciousness to more loving direction. What is important to remember that if you today do your best to describe what all is your car about to someone in wild village, to whom haven’t ever heard a hint of such of a thing, the one mirrors a car to his or her familiar state of mind. It’s all the one can do to form an idea of a car and so on the one’s knowing of your car becomes his reality and will be less or more unreal from that what is the truth about the original. When the one teaches forward to one’s people what is your car like, the more the original thing becomes what it is not because the nature of human mind. We have to keep in mind that Bible isn’t an exeption. The original sacred messages have gone through thousands of individuals mindsets within all these thousands of years. It isn’t about of the messages but of the people out there that have formed the Bible a book of confusing contradictions and sorry to say but also clear lies. For example the age of the world. After doing decades of research of NDEs and believe me I’ve done alot, along my humble experience of Enlightment there can’t be more accurate knowledge of the Real Truth than NDEs can and will bring up today. We are not living in Middle Ages any more. According NDEs Bible still have some original truth like God is Love. Jesus is never discribed a religious being, never discribed a Son of God the exact way Bible announces. We All are Sons of God. God is the ultimate Source of Creation and we exist eternally in Him. In thousands of NDEs out there, God can express Himself in so many ways and Jesus is one of those and it’s only a one way how He do it. To those who read Bible literally and believes every single word is the word of God forget that Bible is a man written book. They believe that a NDE without Jesus is a work of devil. No. It doesn’t go that way. God has given us free will. Because we are parts of God, we have same qualities of Him. We have abilities to create our mind to what ever directions and when we focus in something, it will naturally become our reality of truth. Our abilities to create among free will is so profound that we usually can’t see it. We become blind for any other truths out there. If one use the Divine abilities and free will to create believe system where Christianity is the only way and Christianity is over other religions, it naturally becomes the only reality what exists. When the one’s heart stops beating and a person is revived back, the whole concept of religion collapses and changes everything. God was not like the one that was teached in Church. God never judged. All what God was, God was Love. As one NDEr tells among countless amount of so many others who have died and came back: It is not about religion, it’s all about Love. When a Christian believer set Christianity over others, or otherwise, it is judging and a natural cause of it will be pushing God away however deeply you know God, however deeply you know Jesus. It is building a wall between religions and so on between people. Every known messages of different religions have been precious gifts to humankind from only one Source. Those all religions have been filtered and written down by a man on earth. Today NDE phenomonom is growing like a snowball. Dying is the most ultimate thing to experience and therefore the most trustable first hand source of knowledge no book can tell if you haven’t have one or if you don’t know who you really are. Am I judging NDEs over Bible now? It would be the easiest way to think so but it is far beyond any concepts what I’m trying to tell. Am I against the Bible then? No. I am sad that Bible is not a pure book and how it has been contamined by greed and wrong use of free will. Still though I accept if one follows Bible. I accept it though I see it isn’t totally pure. When Christianity builds walls while some other religions do the same I accept it though it makes me sad. I’m not starting a fight what is right and what is wrong though I see it happening between believing systems day after day. I’m sad that through Bible people learns how to fear God. I’m also happy that there still is some of the Truth left in the book in reflection with the real deal, information of dying and what we can learn from there. If some search Truth from religion, it is okay, for me there’s my way. All the Divine Knowledge is inside us because we are God. With saying that I don’t believe it. I know it. While saying I am God, I am also a beloved one, a tiny child on my Fathers loving hand. Please, don’t be upset. Please, at least think once what I’ve written. If you don’t accept it, it’s okay. With joy in my heart I already know the questions you would ask from me. If you read this with your open heart, you already have had all the answers to your questions. Daniel, if you want to contact me, you know my email and I’m here for you. We all are loved and will always be.
    With heart,
    Juha

    • well thanks for your comment. I do maintain that the Scriptures are accurate and pure however. They can be misread though through a faulty lens (paradigm) of who God is. The only way your ever going to read Scripture acurately is from already having a relationship with the Author and having the Author explain it to you. I was reminded of this Scripture from 2 Peter 1:

“We also have the message of the prophets, which has been confirmed beyond doubt. And you will do well to pay attention to this message, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. 20Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture comes from the prophet’s own interpretation. 21For no prophecy was ever brought about through human initiative, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”

God maintains that his word is pure and accurate. That is beyond dispute.

    Dear Daniel ;

I enjoyed your site, it is good, necessary and heartfelt.

But, having close involvement and reading of Hildegard von Bingen, Tresa of Avila
and especially John of the Cross, you need to go some extra miles to meet face to
    face, say Catherine of Siena.

I humbly introduce you works of Robert Sardello, or Alchemy as a spiritual art.
Zen flesh, zen bones by Paul Reps , is a true gem .

    Truly yours ; Hamid.
